How Can I Help WSSAG and Other Asylum Seeking and Refugee Women in Wales?
Anyone can provide support in the following ways:
Every individual within our group is a woman with a complex past and an uncertain future, making their way in a new country. It can be scary and isolating. Making friends with people who want to show solidarity with their situation can mean so much to our members and helps build community links and understanding. Celebrate diversity in the community by attending one of our open days or inviting us to yours; including us where we will feel welcomed; add your name to our petitions; help raise awareness of the issues women seeking sanctuary face in the UK. All this will help us to build a new life here.
We welcome volunteers at our drop-in. We also like making new friends. If you have some spare time, and think you could help, please contact us.
Advice and/or workshops for our regular members
We encourage sharing skills and knowledge. If you have a specialist skill or subject, that you think our members would be interested in, please let us know.
You may be, or may know someone who is one of the following:
* An ESOL teacher
* Immigration Solicitor / Barrister
* Doctor / Nurse / Midwife
* Support worker with a charity
* Translator / Interpreter
If you can offer any free training, advice or support to our members, please, contact us.
