MY Must Stay Campaign Update

The campaign for asylum seeker M.Y, known as Emily to her friends has been going for several weeks now. Emily was due to be removed on a flight on December 23rd and many campaigners spent hours calling the airline phone numbers to ask for them to act with compassion and not to allow Emily on their plane.

Luckily, Emily did not fly, but was taken ill and was involved in an incident at Yarls Wood detention centre. She has since received news that she has kidney stones, a very painful condition and has seen a nurse.

She currently does not have any new removal directions, but her campaigners are asking people to get involved in a number of ways:

Petition: There is an online petition here with which has already gained over 250 signatures. Please add your signature too.

Letters: There are model letters found here
